“Should old acquaintance be forgot, and never come to mind? Should old acquaintance be forgot, and auld lang syne?”
“We two have run about the slopes, and skiied the powder fine; But we’ve wandered many a weary (knee), since auld lang syne.”
This year we have moved extensively and had the opportunity to spend time with many amazing friends and of course family. Looking to the future I foresee harder work than I’m accustomed to, deeper powder turns and more miles on skis than my legs have experienced thus far, a marriage with exponentially more love, and increased opportunities to spend time with my increasingly crazy family. I will not be spending 2014 on a treadmill eating rice crackers. I will also not decrease my current rate of lying about the size of the fish I catch, stealing Joe’s ski lines, or cheating at cards. And if you think my whiskey consumption will diminish in 2014 you are only fooling yourselves!
“For auld lang syne, my dear, for auld lang syne, we’ll take a cup of kindness yet, for auld lang syne. And surely you’ll buy your pint cup! And surely I’ll buy mine! And we’ll take a cup o’ kindness yet, for auld lang syne.”
Love!
